Описание:
USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) departed Bremerton, Wash. Jan. 16, 2007 for a deployment in support of the global war on terror. To carry out this objective, Stennis and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 squadron quickly arrived on station in the Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf, where they remained for five months to provide air combat power for U.S. and coalition ground forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. To highlight, Sailors and Marines working as a team flawlessly launched more than 8,000 sorties providing more than 22,000 flight hours, dropped more than 160 bombs and expended more than 11,000 rounds of ammunition during 82 strafing runs, sending a clear message about the U.S. resolve and commitment to the people of the Middle East and the world.
As well, the crew enjoyed several quality-of-life port visits to Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. The aim of this cruise video is to serve as a historical reminder and display the hard work contributed by the men and women of Stennis and CVW-9 for nearly eight months during the ship's 2007 deployment.
