In this video I replace the corroded & rusty cross brace on my 1998 1999 BMW Z3 2.8 Roadster E36 5-speed manual in Arctic Silver.
The cross brace is fitted to the underside of the car to tie in the front crossmember to the vehicle underbody structure. This stiffens the vehicle and helps with handling / refinement. Unfortunately these can corrode over time due to exposure to the elements and trapping water & moisture.
I obtain a refurbished cross brace and fit using new genuine BMW bolts. I flood the inside of the new part with Waxoyl, a corrosion inhibitor wax which will protect it and prevent future rusting.
