(Verse 1)
From the Land of Promise, a Queen of the Fae,
Gave her heart to a mortal and wandered away.
To the harbour of Glandore, a world of new green,
The most beautiful woman the world had ever seen.
She waited for Ciabhán, her love, to return,
A lesson in longing, a goddess must learn.
(Chorus)
But the music of Manannán played soft on the breeze,
And a deep, drowsy magic brought her to her knees.
She slept on the sand as the tide started to turn,
And Tonn Chlíodhna, the great wave, came for its return.
It swept her away from the world of all pain,
And the mortal shore never saw her again.
(Verse 2)
But she left in her place a far greater thing,
Than the love of a mortal, a magical spring.
Three birds of bright colour, on her shoulder they sit,
And a song of pure healing from their throats does now flit.
It can mend a sick body and quiet a sad soul,
A melody meant to make all people whole.
(Bridge)
And some say the wave is a sorrowful sound,
The loneliest music on Irish ground.
But listen up closely, behind the great roar,
A faint, gentle melody drifts to the shore.
It's the song of her birds on the wind, soft and low,
A secret of healing that the wise people know.
(Outro)
And the mortal shore never saw her again...
But the wave carries more than just sorrow and foam,
It carries a whisper to call the heart home.
The song of three birds, a gift from the Queen,
The hope and the healing... forever serene.
Listen... just listen...
