Loco Moco with Brown Mushroom Gravy
Serving size: 4 serving
Prep/ cooking time: 45 minutes
Beef Patties:
1 lb. Ground beef
1/2 cup Diamond Bakery's Cracker Crumbs
2 ea. Eggs
1 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Onion powder
salt/ black pepper to taste
Brown Mushroom Gravy:
4 oz. Butter
4-5 oz. Flour
8 oz. Sliced Mushrooms
4 oz. Onion
2 Tbsp. Aloha Shoyu's Original Blend
4 cups Beef stock (desired consistency)
Sunny side eggs:
2 ea. eggs per serving
1. In a clean mixing bowl, place ground beef, Diamond Bakery's Cracker Crumbs, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. With a spoon or your hands, mix the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are incorporated.
2. Once the ground beef mixture is complete, split it to make 4 equal portions and shape it into patties.
3. In a heated sauce pot with oil, sauté onion until translucent, then add mushroom and cook for another 2 minutes. Add in butter, once butter is melted, add flour to create a roux, then cook for another 2 minutes on medium heat. At this time, turn up the heat and add Aloha Shoyu's Original Blend and beef stock. Depending on your desired consistency, you may add more or less beef stock. Bring to a boil and then set aside.
4. Using an indoor/outdoor grill or frying pan, cook beef patties until you've reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
5. In a separate heated pan with oil, fry up two eggs to your desired preference, etc., sunny side, over easy, or scrambled.
6. In a clean bowl, place the desired amount of rice on the bottom, topped with a beef patty, then followed by brown mushroom gravy, and finish the dish with eggs on top.
