I stumbled across a recording I did a number of years back - my mum wanted me to record this song for a project she was doing, but I never actually completed it.
Recently, on an old hard drive, I found the beginnings of the recording I did all those years ago before I abandoned it. The recording included a piano part and a ganjo (guitar banjo). After finding this recording I decided to revisit the project by filming and recording the guitar/vocal/stomp, and do a bass/harmony track with my old mate - two fellas just jamming out in an apartment together and filming it to see what would happen. Does it matter that both of those fellas are me? I don't think so.
We're playing along to previous versions of me from about 5 years ago. I decided not to re-record and film the piano and ganjo parts because I liked what I did back then, so this is the product I am presenting to you.
I'm not a Christmas song kinda guy, but Kasey Chambers wrote an incredible Christmas song. This is last track on her 'Bittersweet' album which brings the humanity into the Christmas story. Hats off to her for writing this song, and I hope you enjoy.
