This year marks the millennial anniversary of the coronation of King Canute – the first king to rule over a truly united realm of England.
To mark this important milestone in Great Britain’s history, a brand new 5oz Silver Coin has just been issued.
The reverse carries a design based on an original medieval Canute penny coin from the Viking era. This 1000 year old design has been painstakingly replicated on a large 65mm diameter pure silver coin blank weighing a staggering 5oz (155.53g).
