As I head towards the south of Albania, I'm stoping to explore the UNESCO World Heritage City of Berat. Often called the 'City of a Thousand Windows' because of the way rows of Ottoman-era houses line the hillsides with their many windows looking out over the valley. The city, with over 2,400 years of history has a lot to offer from the historical Mangalem & Gorica Quarters to Berat Castle perched on top of the hill overlooking the Osum River.
In this video I want to take you on a journey through this magical town, tell you about the history of Berat and try traditional foods to the area.
