In 2019, the Sydney Opera House became the first major Australian arts organisation to make a commitment to achieving the Global Goals. We continue to further embed the Global Goals into our work.

We were super excited to have been part of Global Citizen Live – a 24-hour Global event featuring over 70 artists across seven continents. Broadcast around the world, Sydney Opera House played host to an amazing performance by Delta Goodrem with special appearances from fellow Aussies, Hugh Jackman, Cathy Freeman and Celeste Barber.

Global Citizen Live was a once-in-a-generation day of unity, calling on world leaders, philanthropists and corporations to defend the planet and defeat poverty. Featuring artists including Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Elton John. Lizzo and more, luminaries, and dignitaries on stage at festivals and events across six continents.
