5-year-old Makenzie and her mum Carlie shaved to honour family members impacted by cancer ✂️

🗣️ "I lost my dad in 2020 to stomach cancer, my childhood best friend to #leukaemia in 2023 and my Aunt, who's currently battling cancer with a sarcoma in her leg.

"When I told my daughter Makenzie what I was going to do and why I was going to do it, she very quickly jumped on board to participate. At just 5 years old, she understands the selfless act she has participated in and is absolutely loving her new hairdo!

"She went to school for the first time after the shave, and as kids do, they told her, “She looked like a boy.” When I asked her how that made her feel, she responded, “It didn’t bother me. I just worried about myself and kept playing because I knew that I had done the right thing.”
