Israel has banned the UN Palestinian agency UNRWA from operating in the country, citing alleged involvement of some staffers in the October 7th attack and claiming some have membership in Hamas.
The legislation has alarmed the United Nations and some of Israel's Western allies who fear it would further worsen the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Israeli Foreign Ministry Special Envoy Fleur Hassan-Nahoum accuses banned aid agency UNRWA of “actively facilitating and enabling the terrorism of Hamas”.
She tells Talk’s Alex Phillips: “UNRWA is complicit with a terrorist group that is taking advantage of its own people.”
