On September 2, 2025, Colorado State Shooting Association (CSSA) filed a lawsuit in Federal Court to sue Governor Polis and Attorney General Weiser to overturn the unconstitutional and anti-gun legislation, SB25-003. After Governor Polis shoved his permit to purchase scheme through the Colorado legislature and sign it into law, CSSA retained Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) to form a strategy and lawsuit to prevent this tyranny from standing unchallenged in Colorado. MSLF, the same legal group that just overturned New Mexico's unconstitutional 7-day waiting period has been directed by CSSA to defend and protect Coloradans right to keep and bear arms as clearly stated in the Second Amendment in the Constitution and recently upheld by Bruen, McDonald, and Heller. CSSA and their allies stand ready and able to protect Coloradans' gun rights regardless if they are for revolvers, lever-actions, semi-autos, handguns, and even machine guns.
