The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced Thursday that they are launching an investigation into George Mason University (GMU) for allegedly creating a "racially hostile environment" over its hiring policies.
The complaint, filed under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, was originally filed by a group of GMU professors. They claim that the university's policies unlawfully use race in hiring and promotion.
