Hey guys, today's video is for people who wonder how much the different type of strings affects the sound. I took the standard "Mean to Me", composed in 1929 by Fred E. Ahlert and played :
the 1st chart on Sadowsky nickel round wound strings gauge 13s
the 2nd chart on D'Addario phosphore bronze gauge 12s
On most guitars i tend to prefer nickel strings roundwound, but on this specific one i prefer the old school sound that the phosphore bronze strings brings.
I'm playing a 1936 Gibson L-12 with a gator Dunlop 0.71mm pick. The sound is captured by both a Neumann TLM 103 and a Bluebird microphone.
