If you're having trouble hearing, you may be referred to an #audiologist. But what exactly does an #audiologist do? #Audiologist Brad Ingrao explains what to expect the first time you meet one to get your hearing evaluated. As we age, our hearing can suffer. We have to welcome new people into our lives such as an audiologist. In an earlier video    • What Does an Audiologist Do? with Brad Ing...  , I asked Audiologist Brad Ingrao to explain what exactly it is that he does. Today, I want to discuss with Brad what to expect when you first meet an audiologist. What tests will be run? Do audiologists only traffic in hearing aids? How long will the initial evaluation take?

To find an #audiologist, you can use Google, or contact your medical insurance to find those on your plan. Audiologic care is not terribly expensive, but it's not terribly cheap, either. It's covered by
Medicare if you have a referral from a general physician. And so, Dr. Ingrao usually recommends that you get a referral from your primary care physician. That way, he can be a part of your total health care instead of working in a vacuum.

#Audiologist Brad Ingrao will run a battery of tests to evaluate your ears and your hearing from the outer ear through the ear canal to the middle ear and the inner ear. The whole process should take about 40 minutes.
