In this learning module, you can learn the basics about Hydro pumps.
The following training objectives are to be achieved with this module:
You should be able to describe the basic functions and operating principles of hydraulic pumps.
You should be able to state important distinguishing features of standard pumps and explain their importance.
You should be able to list 6 types of standard pumps and their most important distinguishing characteristics.
As a typical representative of fixed pumps, you should be able to explain the design, function and characteristics of external gear pumps.
As a typical representative of variable displacement pumps, you should be able to explain the design, function and characteristics of bent-axis and swashplate pumps.
You should be able to calculate pump flow rate and hydraulic pump power.
You should be able to define and differentiate between volumetric and mechanical #efficiency, as well as total efficiency, and sketch their qualitative progressions as a function of load pressure.
