How To Watch Gundam Series In Order

In this video, I will share with you how to watch the Gundam series in order. Actually, only the Universal Century era needs to be watched in a specific order. So we will start with that.

The first one to watch is definitely Mobile Suit Gundam, which is the very first Gundam series starring Amuro Ray. Alternatively, you can also watch the Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy, which is a trimmed version of the original with some new footage.

Then, the next to watch is Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, which is the prequel to Mobile Suit Gundam.

Next, there are a few side stories to watch, such as The zero eighth MS Team, Gundam Thunderbolt and Gundam 0080: War in The Pocket.

This is then followed up by Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, before watching Zeta Gundam, which is a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam. After that, watching the double Zeta Gundam will give closure to the Zeta series.

Next up is the film Char’s Counterattack, which again is tied to Mobile Suit Gundam.

Gundam Unicorn and Gundam Narrative are next on the list.

This is then followed by Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, a 3 part movie series and is the sequel to Char’s Counterattack. Only the first movie was released at the time of this video.

Rounding up the UC timeline, we have Gundam F91, a film that details events 30 years after Char’s Counterattack and Victory Gundam, which is the last series happening in the UC timeline.

The following Gundam series is not tied to the same timeline and you can watch them in any order.

First, we have God Gundam, which has more of a martial arts style. Then, Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz is next, followed by After War Gundam X and Turn A Gundam.

The subsequent series recently had a new movie released in January 2024 called Gundam Seed Freedom, which is the sequel for Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny.

Gundam double O is next on the list. After that, we have Gundam Age, which features 3 generations of pilots.

Then, Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans was released, followed by the Gundam Build Fighters series, which debuted gundams from older series via virtual battle arenas.

Lastly, we have Gundam Reconguista in G and that rounds up most of the Gundam franchise to date.
