Hike to Valahnukur in Thorsmork, Iceland (Valahnjúkur Summit in Þórsmörk, Iceland)

Описание: Thorsmork (Þórsmörk) has the best hiking trails in Iceland. The two most popular hikes are the Tindfjöll circle hike and the Valahnjúkur hike. Both start from Langidalur.

Valahnjúkur hike is one of the best short hikes in Thorsmork and the view from Valahnjúkur summit is stunning and is one of the best views in that region. The hike starts from Langidalur or Húsadalur (Volcano Huts). If you start from Langidalur, you have the option to take the trail to Húsadalur (Volcano Huts) after reaching the Valahnjúkur summit. You can also start from Húsadalur (Volcano Huts) and then take the trail to Langidalur after reaching the Valahnjúkur summit. The hike can take up to 3 hours (roundtrip).

Tindfjöll circle hike is a long hike and can take up to 6 hours. It starts from and ends at Langidalur.

The road to Thorsmork (Þórsmörk) is difficult due to the powerful glacial river that needs to be crossed and difficult road conditions and is not accessible to normal vehicles. Reykjavik Excursions operates specialized highland buses with professional drivers that navigate these roads with ease and comfort.
