My day begins with a peaceful walk through the center of Ljubljana, where I stop by the iconic Franciscan Church in Prešeren Square—one of the city’s most photographed landmarks and a perfect starting point to take in the energy of the old town. From there, I head to the lively Central Market Ljubljana, where locals gather to shop for fresh produce, flowers, and traditional Slovenian goods. I pick up a few things to use later while cooking in Ljubljana, using local ingredients in a simple student-style meal.

In the afternoon, I squeeze in a quick workout in Ljubljana at my local gym, and then head to a neighborhood salon for a much-needed haircut in Ljubljana—sharing what it’s like to do everyday errands as a student abroad. These seemingly small experiences are some of the best ways to connect with local culture and get to know the city beyond the tourist attractions.
