Join me on this silent hiking adventure in 4k as we hike the iconic Lantau Trail in Hong Kong, beginning from the charming village of Mui Wo (梅窩). This stunning hike takes you through a diverse landscape of lush forests, rugged peaks, and breathtaking views. As we set off from Mui Wo, we’ll pass Silvermine Bay (白銀灣) and journey up Sunset Peak (大東山) where I camped for the first night and then to the highest point on Lantau Island, Lantau Peak (大嶼山), offering panoramic views of the surrounding islands and sea.
On day 2 we'll pass Ngong Ping (昂坪), where you’ll encounter the famous Tian Tan Buddha (天壇大佛) and the Po Lin Monastery (寶蓮寺). The hike continues through picturesque villages and trails, including the quiet hamlet of Tai O (大澳), known for its stilt houses and rich fishing history.
The second night I camped at Kai Ling Chung Campsite before continuing and ending up at Mui Wo again.
