Change has been incremental and hard-won, but there is an increasing awareness of the importance of expanding opportunities for - and elevating the work of - women and composers of color. To discuss this critical topic in detail, we’ve convened a panel of award-winning composers who are leading the charge for diversity and equity in the screen music community: Starr Parodi (Starter Wife, Transformers: Rescue Bots), President of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, and Michael Abels (Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Us), Co-Founder of the Composers Diversity Collective. They’ll analyze the history of screen music’s diversity problem, and talk about proactive measures the industry can take to work towards change.
