Mary wanted to help people in her community generate an income and protect the environment at the same time!
Mary started an olive tree planting project where she distributes olive tree seedlings to local women, farmers and schools. The brown olive tree improves the land conditions for farmers, allowing more chances for a successful harvest. Students and women are planting more trees and making an income for their families by selling the olives and making other by-products.
