What does war actually feel like for ordinary people?
This short story follows a woman in Mariupol during the first hours of heavy shelling. When explosions begin across the city, she and her family rush into the basement of their apartment building along with dozens of neighbors.
Inside the dark shelter, there is no electricity, no phone signal, and no clear information about what is happening outside. People sit shoulder to shoulder, listening to distant blasts, waiting to see if the next one will come closer.
Through small moments — a child falling asleep, a flickering candle, someone whispering in the dark — the experience of war becomes something quiet, confusing, and deeply human.
This video is a narrative reconstruction inspired by civilian experiences during the siege of Mariupol.
