BIO - Risky Romy, born in Vigo, moved to Porto in 2016, where she quickly immersed herself in the local electronic movement. She was a DJ and team member of “Quarta Bass” and collaborated with the DnB label “Counterpoint”. She earned a monthly residency at “Big Bad Bank” and a weekly one at “Era uma vez em Paris”, which she maintained for six years. She also performed in other iconic Porto spaces, like “Era uma vez no Porto”, in addition to gigs in Vigo, Celorico de Basto, and other locations.

Her talent opened doors to projects like “Alinea A” and “Vicious Electronic Music”, as well as live-streamings on “Foundation Festival”, “The Secret Lounge Radio”, “Draw The Line Radio Show”, and “PNC Radio BCN”.

Since September 2021, she has been the resident DJ and founder of “Ruralive”. As director and curator, she programs events in Porto, Caminha, and Viana do Castelo, creating bridges with artists, new spaces, and an increasingly diverse audience.

In 2023, she made her presence felt at festivals like “Gal/Ego” and “Brétema” in Galicia. In 2024, she took her sound to Barcelona (Freedonia with “Pink Bingo”, club “Luv”, room “Recreo” with “Kazanova Club”) and to gigs like “The Afternoon” in Vigo, “Snaack”, “From House to Techno Party”, and other raves and events throughout Galicia.

She grew up to the vibrant sounds of the 80s and 90s—from Acid House to Synth Pop—influenced by artists like Grace Jones, Donna Summer, and The Communards. Still young, she fell in love with the dance floor of the mythical “Vademecwm” in Vigo, where names like Michael Mayer, Kalkbrenner, Ellen Allien, Superpitcher, My Robot Friend, and Plastikman passed through.Hard to label, Risky Romy mixes techno, dark disco, acid, house, or electro in a single set, creating deep connections with the audience and standing out for her versatility and artistic sensitivity.

She co-founded Ruralive and the Ruta Sonora festival, where she handles artistic curation and direction. _*
