Lagos served as the capital city of Nigeria until 1991 when the capital was moved to Abuja in a bid to reduce the crazy congestion in Lagos.

The Construction of Abuja began in the 1980s when extensive planning and development were carried out including the construction of Infrastructure, Government Buildings, and residential areas.
Abuja is one of the Most Beautiful Cities in Africa featuring Wide Roads, landscaped gardens, and well-organized neighborhoods, giving it a distinct and orderly appearance.
Being the Political Capital, Abuja is home to Many Government Agencies and international organizations. The city houses the Nigerian Presidential Complex, the National Assembly, the Supreme Court, and Numerous foreign Embassies and high commissions.
