IN DEPTH: 15-year-old girl killed in rollover crash involving nine students inside one car

Описание: WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A 15-year-old girl was killed in a rollover crash involving nine Cyprus High School students who were traveling in a single car.

According to Roxanne Vainuku with the West Valley City Police Department, the group left the high school Tuesday morning before 11 a.m.

The crash happened near 4100 S. 8400 W. Vainuku said the 15-year-old girl who was killed was ejected from the vehicle and is believed not to have been wearing a seat belt.

Four other students, including the driver, were taken to the hospital, according to Vainuku.

The crash involved one vehicle, and all nine students were inside. Vainuku said speed may have been a factor.

"This is a dirt road, and it wouldn't necessarily have to be a tremendous amount of speed that could cause an accident like this, but it is an uneven surface, and we do believe that some form of speed may have been involved," she said.
