Neo Brings Back Trinity To Life

Описание: This is more of a headcanon answer than a true canon answer, but I believe that it fits within the facts of the Matrix universe.

First, a bit of background: Humans have a real value to the machines. As such the machines, being machines, want to attain maximum utility out of every human life.

The simulation can’t kill you; when your avatar dies in the Matrix, the machines would have to kill your physical body. They wouldn’t do that. That would be a gross inefficiency. When you “die” your current presence is removed from the Matrix, because your death is part of the simulation for those remaining, but you live on to maximize whatever usefulness the machines have for you. How? We know through Cypher’s deal with Agent Smith that the machine’s can alter human memory and the simulation itself to reincarnate a human’s existence within the Matrix.

For example: if you get hit by a bus in NYC today you’ll die in the simulation; according to every one else’s perspective. But you, your body, are still alive. The machine’s will transition you into another area of the Matrix with appropriate artificial memories. Perhaps you’ll wake up as a traveling salesman in the UK tomorrow.

An even more efficient use of resources would be to re-utilize the first, “perfect/sublime”, version of the Matrix as a haven for the “dead”. Instead of having to manipulate a running story the recently deceased are simply shunted to “heaven” to live out the rest of their biological days. If they happen to reject “heaven” then they can be reincarnated into the Matrix.

Back to our romantic duo: Neo didn’t save Trinity from dying, simply because she wasn’t dying. Neo stopped Trinity’s avatar from transitioning; a more easily attainable outcome. Neo alternated the metrics of Trinity’s avatar by restarting her heart process. Not entirely unlike restarting a process on your computer.
