ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band- 2008-2014 at "Bluegrass On Broad" in Kingsport

Описание: May not be an ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band concert on Broad Street in Kingsport summer of 2015 for the first time in twelve years. Tom Keller was a terrific unofficial and unpaid "Producer/Director" of Bluegrass On Broad for eleven years but he "retired" from that role at the end of the 2014 series. Prior to 2014 the Bluegrass On Broad concerts were conducted on Friday nights at 7 PM beginning in mid-May and ending the last week in August with the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band concert to coincide with the ETSU Pride Week Celebrations in Johnson City (students return to campus). Starting in 2014 Bluegrass On Broad was shifted to Thursday nights at 7 PM starting in late May or early June and continuing till sometime in July. The concerts are conducted on a mobile stage on Broad Street in downtown Kingsport, Tennessee (stage is on Broad Street between Market Street and Main Street.

The ETSU 2014 concert was conducted on 29 August 2015 but was poorly attended due a number of influences including rain prior to the concert, competing public events (DB football), and a lack of follow-up publicity following the completion of the Bluegrass On Broad published schedule (ETSU concert was not included in the schedule). I actually contacted Bluegrass Director, Dan Boner, a week prior to the concert to find out If, When, and Where it would happen.

No 2015 concert is currently planned by ETSU program for Downtown Kingsport Concert series.

As currently scheduled, the first seasonal performance of the 2015-2016 ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band will be on the new, permanent stage in Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton, Tennessee on Saturday 29 August 2015 at 7 PM.

It begins June 20 with the Thursday Night Boys. The rest of the schedule is:June 27, the Bullseye Band; July 4, a special show from noon to 4 p.m. with the Jerry Pierce Band and the Dennis Cove Band; July 11 Retroville; July 18, Blue Carpet Corner; July 25, 40 West; Aug. 1, the Mayberry Deputy and Jon Goad and New Hawkins Grass; Aug. 8, Sacred Harmony; Aug 15, Hollow Ground; the event for Aug. 22 has not been announced. The final performance would be on Aug. 29, with the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Band."
