Описание:
Unconventionally written poem praising the multiplicity of divine creation. The manner in which the poem is written takes the reader or listener away from a mere description of beauty and into the more chaotic nature of creativity where everything is born from nothing.
The cover picture of a continental landscape doesn't really give a true impression of the poem, the poem being more reflective of an English landscape with medieval divided fields and artisans, but still perhaps gives a feeling of the rich variety of creation that is found throughout the entire planet.
Pied Beauty
Glory be to God for dappled things –
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced – fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
