Meditation Mondays is a weekly video series from the Mindful Ecotherapy Center, released every Monday, offering guided mindfulness practices to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and present-moment connection.
This week’s meditation, “True Self Meditation,” is a guided practice focused on helping you reconnect with a sense of self that exists beneath roles, stories, habits, and expectations. Instead of trying to improve, fix, or analyze who you are, this meditation invites you to gently notice what remains when you stop performing and striving.
Through mindful attention to breath, body, and inner experience, you are guided to observe thoughts and identities as passing events rather than definitions. The practice emphasizes curiosity, openness, and compassion, allowing space for a quieter, steadier sense of self to emerge. This approach is consistent with mindfulness-based and acceptance-based traditions that view the “true self” not as something to be achieved, but something revealed through awareness.
This meditation can be especially helpful if you feel disconnected, over-identified with self-criticism, or caught in rigid narratives about who you’re supposed to be. It is appropriate for both beginners and experienced meditators.
