The Long-Lost Recordings of Getaway Van
Long before West Michigan was on the map for its indie and folk scenes, there was a band called Getaway Van. Formed in the early 2000s, this hard-rock trio was Dan Weger (vocals/guitar), Kevin Packard (drums), and Michael Feuerstein (bass). While their time together was short-lived, the band created a dynamic and raw sound that left a mark on those who saw them play.
Now, after more than 20 years, we're unearthing their long-lost recordings.
Recorded between 2004 and 2005 at the legendary 40 Oz. Sound studios in Ann Arbor, Michigan, these tracks were engineered by Ben Began, a veteran of the studio known for his work with numerous Michigan bands in the early 2000s. These recordings capture the raw energy and unique songwriting of Getaway Van, bringing their music to a new generation.
For fans of raw, early-2000s rock and anyone who wants a taste of West Michigan's underground music scene from that era, this is a must-listen.
