This session marked the 1st class of the Practical Artificial Intelligence Course for the Novv 2025 batch. The course is running in both Punjabi/English.

We are collaborating with Akal Academies to provide learnings to 130 schools across Punjab. Furthermore, our team is extending free AI education to over 100 SGPC schools and dozens of Punjab government schools.
Punjab AI Excellence is ranked among the top AI teaching programs in India. We have conducted live AI sessions for 50,000+ students.

We would like to acknowledge Punjab AI Excellence, an initiative led by Dr. Sandeep Singh Sandha, for its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence education and innovation in India. The program plays a pivotal role in equipping students and professionals with practical AI skills, particularly by empowering rural communities and fostering the use of AI in key sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance. Punjab AI Excellence is led by Dr. Sandeep Singh Sandha, a PhD from UCLA and BTech from IIT Roorkee. Via our courses, we introduce students to the real-world possibilities of AI. It explained how AI is transforming fields like healthcare, agriculture, and wildlife monitoring, with examples like AI detecting cancer at AIIMS Delhi and AI predicting plant diseases with high accuracy. The instructors also shared their backgrounds, highlighting their contributions to global technology projects, including smartphone CPUs and AI-driven robotics.

Students are given a glimpse into what AI really means, how AI systems are built, and how companies like Amazon use AI to personalize services. The course promises a hands-on experience where learners will not only understand the theory but also build real AI applications using Python. With students joining from 200+ cities, the excitement was high. The roadmap was laid out clearly, encouraging students to learn systematically and become future leaders in AI.

What you will learn

Over the course you’ll be guided through a structured set of modules including:

1. *Introduction to AI & Machine Learning*

The “Age of Intelligence”, steps to creating AI, example systems (vision, text, tabular). ([Scribd][2])

2. *Python for AI*

Basics of Python (data types, control structures, functions).
Python libraries for AI/ML: NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, maybe TensorFlow/PyTorch.
Data-processing, feature engineering, preparing datasets.

3. *Machine Learning Algorithms*

Supervised learning: regression, classification.
Unsupervised learning: clustering, dimensionality reduction.
Introduction to model evaluation, metrics, over-/under-fitting.

4. *Deep Learning & Neural Networks*

Basics of neural networks (perceptron, multi-layer networks).
Convolutional Neural Networks (for computer vision).
Recurrent Neural Networks / Transformers (for text/NLP).
Training & deploying models.

5. *Hands-On Projects*
