The illegal bushmeat trade, poaching, and illegal wildlife trafficking are driving populations closer and closer toward a breaking point. This does not only affect pangolins’ survival but humans and the environment too!
Ali Baba, veteran comedian and Wild Africa ambassador, puts it simply: “Pangolins help us by eating ants and termites. But they breed very slowly, just one baby every two years. If we continue to eat them, they will disappear and we will have more ants and termites that destroy our food and crops.” 🐜🌾
By choosing other forms of legal protein, and saying NO to illegal bushmeat, we get to protect these vulnerable animals while also protecting our own food security and the balance of our environment❗
