Diane Zhou--Central Pacific Regional Championships 2013 Novice FS

Описание: Not a clean program! :( Put my hand down and tagged a single jump to the end of my second double flip, plus last double loop downgraded. Sucky levels (layback 3, flying 2, combo 2, footwork 2), but enough GOE +'s that I think for the first time ever, my panel score was higher than my base value overall in my long program! :O

Component marks were much better than they were in the short :). Special award for one +2 on the layback spin as well. Moved up from 8th after the short to 6th in the long and 6th overall, more than 4 points behind 4th and Sectionals. Aw, I kinda wanted to come back to Utah since it's such a nice place and there will be snow during Sectionals, but to be honest, I didn't expect to advance anyway. 6th was already higher than what I thought I would get, especially after that disappointing short program score.

So yeah, awesome experience in Utah (overreacting about high altitude xD I didn't have any problems after the first night and I bet that was just from the plane flight) and nothing dreadful to regret about my performances.

-my coaches Sherri, Gilley, and Jonathon; choreographer Pam; and dance teachers Mr. Zhang and Julia for constantly trying to make me a better skater
-skating buddies :D for making skating something I truly love and have fun doing
-academic and extracurricular teachers for fully supporting my absence from classes to do this competition
-all friends for clicking like buttons and commenting on my statuses (haha, I know you mean more than that!)
-my family for screwing up their schedules in order to let me do this crazy sport, especially my mom who probably stresses out about my skating more than I worry about myself by attempting to regulate my eating habits, plan my extracurricular schedule, keep up with new information, etc. Would have been utterly impossible without her!

Oh and that mushroom in the end was from Sarah and Natalie Feng's family. Thanks so much and good luck to both of them at Sectionals! ;)
