The hand shear is capable of cutting steel and aluminum, as well as solid round bars. The term throatless refers to the frame being designed in an offset fashion. Hence, when you use the tool, you can cut metal sheets of any size.
The procedure to use the tool is simple. Feed the steel through the shear as fast as you can pull the handle, and you will get a clean, straight cut. An outside radius cut can also be achieved by feeding the material from the back of the blade while bringing down the handle. The design also includes an adjustable hold down to keep the material straight during operation.
