The DLC Death Rite Bird is in Charo's Hidden Grave. From the Charo’s Hidden Grave Site of Grace, go northwest through the stone arch into the big, grave-strewn lake. Clear the Gravebirds around the shoreline first, then ride/walk into the middle of the lake and the boss will spawn.

If you do not even have Charo’s Hidden Grave unlocked yet, the intended route is through Dragon's Pit. After you exit at Dragon's Pit Terminus, you pass the lake with the Jagged Peak Drake, take the right-hand path to Grand Altar of Dragon Communion, then go to the right of the altar and climb over the dead dragon’s wing to drop into the red-flower basin that starts Charo’s Hidden Grave.

For the fight, assume “ghostflame equals Frostbite plus pain.” Several guides note the bird’s attacks can inflict Frostbite (and often add magic damage), so Frost resistance and simply not standing in the lingering flame patches matters a lot. Holy damage is the big lever here, and Strike damage also performs well, so Faith setups and blunt weapons get to feel morally superior for once. You can reliably punish after its slam and after it “plants” ghostflame for the big explosion, but do your damage in short bursts and reposition, because the arena gets carpeted fast.

About spawning: Death Rite Birds are generally “night” bosses, and at least one wiki-style source still states that behavior. But there are also notes specific to Charo’s Hidden Grave claiming this one can appear regardless of time of day. Net effect: if you walk into the lake and nothing happens, rest at the grace, pass time to night, and re-enter the lake. It fixes most “it didn’t show up” situations without you having to debate wiki theology.

Killing it pays out 230,000 runes and drops Ash of War: Ghostflame Call. Ghostflame Call’s effect is a thrust that summons ghostflame, with a follow-up that either lays a lingering line of ghostflame (normal attack) or triggers a larger explosion (strong attack); it’s a Cold affinity Ash with 15 FP cost.
