John Loughton's "My journey from Poverty to Power" is a hugely inspiring talk where John revisits and scrutinises a letter from a 12 year old boy who experiences the pain and hardship of growing up in rough areas of Britain where resources of all kinds are nothing but far from being found.
John's critique to the UK's socioeconomic sphere might come across as harsh to some, but it rather shows an uncomfortable truth to many of us who more than often complain about vane issues.
A truly inspiring talk. John Loughton not only proved himself as an amazing speaker but he was also highly engaging and got the whole audience to reflect and analyse on the importance of giving Britain's youth a real chance to life.
John Loughton is a global youth campaigner, Policy Advisor and entrepreneur. Growing up in poverty to a single parent family, he led his first campaign aged 11 and has fought for social equality and youth rights ever since. John was the youngest ever democratically elected Chairman of the Scottish Youth Parliament. In 2008 he came to prominence when he won Big Brother Celebrity Hijack. As CEO of leadership company Dare2Lead, he has worked in 25 countries to over 50,000 people. John was named Outstanding Youth of the World 2013.
