This interview focuses on the idea of unresolved emotional attachment in Bowen family systems theory. Descriptions of the emotional attachment, the dependency that originates in childhood, primarily in the triangle with mother, father, and self are discussed. Resolving degrees of attachment is a continuing process over the life course. Examples of efforts to resolve degrees of unresolved emotional attachment are described.
