At first glance you might assume that the Vigor2962 router is just an upgrade for the old Vigor2960. They're the same size and shape, and even the names are similar. However, a closer look reveals these are better thought of as whole new products. The Vigor2960 was a dual WAN router with two gigabit WAN ports and 4 gigabit LAN ports. The Vigor2962 series features two models, One with PoE and one without, and both have five ports marked as WAN/LAN. That means they can be either WAN ports or LAN ports. Port P2 is shared with an SFP slot, meaning you can use either the RJ45 gigabit Ethernet port or the SFP slot if you have a direct fibre Internet connection, or if you want to use it as a LAN port to uplink to a switch with either optic fibre modules and cable, or using a DAC cable. Port 1 will support up to 2.5Gbps.
