After Moses gives the blessings & curses of following God & not, He pleads with Israel to obey God's commandments. He says they should trust in Him because He is all-knowing, and humans (us included) are decidedly not. He also warns that worshiping idols will lead to the corruption of the land and curses that were prophesied in the previous chapters.
