Update 5.0 for No Man’s Sky is called Worlds Part 1 and an insane amount of stuff has been added.

A massive graphics engine upgrade means that every planet type is more immersive and visually impressive than ever before.

Water now has realistic reflections, waves and is even responsive to the wind. Atmospheric fog has been introduced while leaves and grass blow in the direction of the breeze. Shadows have even been totally overhauled to be more realistic.

But this update isn’t just about visual upgrades.

New floating islands are now in the game to add verticality when it comes to exploring some planets. New alien creatures, craftable armor sets and 40 new Nutrient processor recipes are being added too.

Although the most exciting part of the update might be this limited-time expedition.

Taking part in the Liquidators expedition can earn you some incredible rewards including Liquidator Mech armor that you earn piece by piece. But the event only runs for six weeks shortly after the updates goes live so don’t miss it.
