Northpoint students got ready for Fall Break this morning with their annual Fall Break All School Dance Celebration! Music Teacher Jocelyn Dupuis taught ALL the grades the dances to prepare for today's Dance-off. Each song represented a different culture:
-Pre-K and Kindergarten: Bounce, America
-1st gr.: Rakes of Mallow, Traditional Irish Folk Dance
-2nd gr.: Chimes of Dunkirk, Longways Set Dance from France
-3rd gr.: Sasha, European folk dance created to celebrate friendship
-4th gr.: Los Machetes a traditional folk dance from Mexico created to honor the hard workers of farmers in Jalisco Mexico. Students used rhythm sticks
-5th gr.: "I Love A Rainy Night" by Eddie Rabbitt, a traditional American Country Western Line Dance
Group Dances: Macarena (Spain) Chicken Dance, Cha Cha Slide and Hey Jack are all from America.
