Addison's Walk is an 0. 8 mile circular path around a meadow in the grounds of Magdalen College, Oxford. On the evening of September 19th, 1931, C. S. Lewis walked along this path with his friends J.R. R. Tolkien and Hugo Dyson. And what the three of them discussed that evening on that walk would change C. S. Lewis's life forever.
C.S. Lewis was an Irish writer and scholar best known for his works of fantasy, particularly The Chronicles of Narnia, and his Christian apologetics. He was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1898 and died in Oxford, England, in 1963. Lewis was an influential intellectual, holding positions at both Oxford and Cambridge, and his writings continue to be widely read and enjoyed today.
Lewis was a professor of English Literature at Oxford and later at Cambridge. He was part of the literary group known as the Inklings, which included J.R.R. Tolkien. He experienced a conversion to Christianity later in life, which heavily influenced his writings. His Christian apologetics works include Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters.
C.S. Lewis's writings continue to be read and enjoyed by people of all ages. His works have been adapted into various films, including The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. He is remembered as one of the most influential writers and thinkers of the 20th century.
