We’re honored to host Professor Carlos Centeno (Director, ATLANTES Global Observatory of Palliative Care, Clínica Universidad de Navarra & University of Navarra, Spain) for a session on the First Asia-Pacific Ranking of Palliative Care: 2025 World Map Insights under the WHO Framework.
This presentation introduces the First Asia-Pacific Ranking of Palliative Care, based on the 2025 World Map developed under the new WHO Framework for Palliative Care Development. Drawing on data from 41 countries and territories, it highlights regional strengths—particularly in policy integration and community empowerment—and identifies key gaps, such as access to essential medicines and workforce capacity. Examples from countries illustrate successful models of practice. The session concludes with a call to action for regional stakeholders to monitor progress and collaborate in advancing universal access to palliative care.
