Here's one that came up at a holiday party jam, from the repertoire of Williamson Hamblen (b. 1846). In the Hamblen manuscript this tune is written with F naturals in the high part. We chose to ignore that but otherwise adhere to how it's notated. Our friend, the late great Art Rosenbaum, played this tune pretty much this way, which he got from Indiana fiddler John Summers (b. 1887). It leads one to speculate that this version was a common tune in Indiana at least as far back as the late 19th century, as that's where Williamson spent most of his life after the family moved there from Virginia when he was around 11 years old.
Tom Baker - banjo
Nancy Hartness - guitar
Rob McMaken - mandolin
