Using an Exit Mouse to Leave the Past

Note that this only works in MOTHER 1+2. It doesn't work with MOTHER 2 or EarthBound.
When the programmers ported the game to the GBA, they made a few little slip-ups. They made sure that you can't use the Ext Mouse in the Cave of the Past, but they forgot to make it so that you can't use it when you're in the intestine-like Giygas area at the very end. So you can use the Exit Mouse to leave!
Once you leave, you'll see that all of the places that are shown during the prayer cut scenes are already set up to play the prayer music and have the various sprites in place. For example, the Runaway Five are in Summers, though it only says "No problem here." when you try to talk to them.
This whole "leaving the past" thing was a rumor for many years, so I wanted to finally show that it IS true.
