(4 Nov 2016) More than a thousand far right nationalists marched in Moscow on Friday, as Russia celebrated National Unity Day.
Demonstrators participating in the 'Russian March' carried banners calling for a new government, and chanted 'Putin-out!' before gathering in a public square in the city.
The group's nationalist leader Dmitry Demushkin was arrested earlier this year, as part of a Kremlin crackdown on opposition movements.
March's organiser Yuri Gorsky said all of the banners calling for Demushkin's release were confiscated by the police before the event.
Two people were arrested during Friday's march.
National Unity Day was created by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2005 to replace a holiday dedicated to the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution that had been celebrated on November 7 during Soviet times.
