Christian and Muslim leaders, together with civil society organisations and community activists in Mombasa, held a joint media briefing to strongly condemn recent attacks on places of worship and the rise in alleged extrajudicial killings.


The leaders expressed concern over what they termed as growing police brutality, citing the recent attack on a church in Othaya during a Sunday service attended by the immediate former Deputy President.

They called for respect for the sanctity of worship spaces, accountability from security agencies, and an end to violence targeting civilians, warning that continued attacks risk undermining peace, rule of law, and interfaith harmony.
