It's been awhile since my last DKC cover. I knew I wanted to record a DKC song but I couldn't decide on which one to do. This song has been on my list for a while now. I was planning to record it at the end of this year but I couldn't wait that long.
I had a rough idea on how I wanted the drums to go. I wanted to keep it close to the original but also add my own style to it. I had no idea what I was going to do with everything else. The song just developed a kind of 80's sound to it which I love. The main synth sound and the massive reverb on the drums help complete the 80's feel along with the piano.
I haven't played DKC in a while and it took me some time to beat K. Rool for the gameplay footage but it was still a lot of fun.
