Emily Whitehead was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at age five. In 2012, she became the first child in the world to receive CAR T-cell therapy in a breakthrough clinical trial. #StandUpToCancer-funded researchers leveraged the success of Emily’s trial, and their work contributed to U.S. FDA approval for the same treatment she received, allowing many more kids with ALL to become survivors!

️Today, thanks to innovative cancer research, Emily is 11 years cancer free and headed to college.
