Описание: I am deeply committed to equity and social justice. Given my extensive research and actual work in film and media studies, I recognize the hidden powers of cinema and how it can be a force for social justice. A force for good in this world. Tony Kashani , Ph.D. is an author, educator, philosopher of technology, and a cultural critic. Tony is a subject matter expert and university professor, focusing his interdisciplinary scholarship and writing on humanities in the digital age and social justice. He is the author of five books on media and cinema, including his latest, Movies Change Lives, an examination of transformative power of cinema. Tony believes that if the “self” builds solidarity with the “other,” harmony is achieved, and we can all live at ease with each other while engaging our differences. He is also a Black Belt in Karate and as a student of Zen philosophy believes in balancing his life with mindfulness to result in a harmonious mind-body-spirit existence. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
